CCA LEADERS' CAMP 2009 ((:
16th - 18th November 2009
The camp was great, overall.
DAY ONE - 16TH NOVEMBER
I couldn't wake up. Thus, missed the first bus, panicked. Not a great way to start huh. :x
Anyway I reached school at 8.23. (:
Awesome. Hhaah. Met Ratana and Andrea(idk what she was doing there). Went in, met charlene.
Played egg chicken wonderwoman. I cheated HEE HEE. I promoted myself from egg to wonderwoman. (:
Arranged ourselves according to our birthdays and thus, got split into 5 different groups.
I was in group 1 with facils Alex and Analeen (uhh.)
It was very quiet. I stuck with Clara and Eunice. hahah.
In the afternoon we played 3 station games, which helped to make things more lively. My group bonded alot through the station games, and I sorta made new friends. (:
While we were playing the third game, sole survivor, it rained. HAH. we took out all our handphone, shoes, shoe laces, rubber band, etc etc to form the longest line. then. when it rained, everything wet. (MY HANDPHONE MANN!)
wth. but it was super fun getting wet, plus walking barefoot from the basketball court to the void deck, plus putting back our shoelaces and all. hee hee.
After that was. (recalls... it has been more than a week alr haha)
oh! MOAT GAME!
How could i forget.
By far, its the most novel, most challenging yet most fun game i've played in awhile.
We took 1hr 20mins at this game. I think it thought us alot of teamwork, tolerance and persistance. :D I really enjoyed it.
We played it again during prefects camp btw. But this time, us being the facils. the mean crocodiles. :D hahah. Switching roles was interesting. But I think it was good cos anyway we facils alr mastered the skill so. HAHA. (: yay.
DAY TWO - 17TH NOVEMBER
Uhh. I'll just highlight that day 2 was uber fun because of the community waypoint challengs (cwc) aka. amazing race lah.
We went out of school to play. (:
it was a race between group 1 and 2. I was in group 1 with the prefects, service boards,clubs and UGs. I think thats all. sports and pa in grp 2.
Our first station was in Eunos. Some old folks home. we got there quite fast, and played charades. Learnt more about people with autism and not ostracizing them. (:
Our next station killed us.
It was at some ulu place at telok kurau which has idk how many lorongs then we walk walk from eunos to marine parade. (!!!) thats like. how far?!
hahah.
then played a card game. I was the old folk. (:
I think the aim of the game was very meaningful and its something I think about and understand. It has a parallel meaning to how lost the elderly are in our currently advanced world, and how they do not understand technology. As facil leovin said, even when we grow up, there's definitely gonna be more new technology. How would we feel when our children and grandchildren are unwilling to teach us?
We rushed over to our next station. And I really mean RUSHED. it was like sprinting in 2.4. hahahha. then facil Manfred took this super unglamm max photo of the front ppl running. (!!!) Damn unglam. We walked through the siglap park connector. Then our team had to make a decision on whether to go left or right.
At first we were quite sure that it was right. Marine drive blk 66. Then the facils purposely confuse us and say its left. then. It was quite hard, as the leaders werent sure. Then. I really felt at one point to just say. we'll split and half go left and half go right. We'll see who gets it correct in the end. But then again, that wasnt what teamwork was about. Its no use trying to prove your team members right. There's no point. What's important is to find a solution together.
In the end, we walked left abit then the facils said. Okay. its right. So we were right. -.-
Next. couldn't decide whether to take bus or walk. Seriously, we should have took the bus. but we walked. obviously, walked very far and in the end no time. So we just rushed back to school.
We reached there second. There were 2 teams. Haha.
But i think it was nice that the other team cheered us on as we reached the canteen. I was expecting them to just laugh at us about how loser we were haha.
Shared green tea and donuts. It was awesome. We sat down with the other team and shared our experiences! Uber cool.
Went back to the avt for more sharing. Home.
DAY THREE- 18TH NOVEMBER
Day three.
Presentation for project management.
Pretty draggy day, all presentations.
We went first. I think our project presentation was good. But as to whether we'll carry out that for pb cip? idk. haha. financial talks for old folks. Hmmm.
The day ended early actually.
We had a short talk with jasmine about pb camp. and other things such as her wedding. hahaha. (:
Overall, it was a good camp.
(im sorry this is so delayed. I took 2 weeks to write this haha! so wols.)
