Haha.
Anyway.
I conclude that 28th August wasn't a good day.(Haha sorry Alicia its your birthday) BUT. I learnt alot of things today. Not in terms of academics. In terms of relationships. (:
Mr Seah told us a story today.
Once, there was a man who needed to climb a mountain. (sounds funny.) As he left the house, his family members told him; "On your way, if you see any beasts, dont be scared. Dont panic, Just climb up the tree and the beast wont hurt you." So the man set off on his journey feeling scared and anxious.
As he was walking, he did not see any beasts. The anxiety in his heart started to decrease.
Suddenly, he saw a tiger. Of course, he panicked and climbed up the tree. The tiger circled the tree, with its eyes fixed on his soon-to-be lunch(: It roared. The man, still panicking, started to lose his grip of the tree trunk. He slid, and fell onto the back of the tiger. Both the man and the tiger were shocked, and the tiger started to run with the man on its back.
A passer by saw the scene, and from afar, he admired the man as he has much courage to get on the back of a tiger. However, to the man on the back of the tiger, he was panicking like mad. The passer by wanted so much to be as brave as that man. He stood there, and admired. ...
The moral of the story is. Comparing yourself to someone who seems to have more abilities than you will always make you feel more demoralised and inferior. And, that (i quote from Joy) "The most 'glam' job is always the most tiring." Comparing to someone whom you obviously cannot be will always lower your self esteem. For me, that happened alot, and it still happens alot. Of course now, i shall stop comparing myself to others. Not to become ego and think im awesome, haha, but because it is endless. Nobody is perfect. Even if I gain more abilities and be like the person that I admire, will I be happy? Look at the man on the tiger. He is not happy nor proud of his achievement, in fact, in his heart, he isnt at all. So why should I compare? I wont end up anywhere, nor will I end up any happier than I am now. So, I shall believe in myself and my abilities. :D
That was the only story out of 3 stories that i connected to. I love stories during legacy. It may be boring to some but i extremely look forward to the stories haha. Its the only time i guai guai kept my other stuff and listened to him for the full 50 mins. :D -smiles brightly!-
Haha okay. finish preaching alr. (:
I shall be more optimistic.
